I have been licensed as an independent practicing Clinical Psychologist since 2001.

As a clinician, I have worked in both medical and psychiatric settings (hospitals, inpatient, outpatient, clinics). I have worked with people of all ages (ranging from 4- to 92-years-old) as well as individuals from diverse cultural/ethnic, educational, socioeconomic, and experiential backgrounds. I have experience with people struggling with all sorts of issues, such as relationship difficulties, family problems, parenting, infertility and adoption, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, eating disorders, grief and bereavement, oppositional disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, brain injuries, dementia, sexual abuse and other trauma, personality disorders, drug/alcohol abuse and other addictions, and other challenges. In addition, I have extensive experience conducting psychological evaluations (cognitive, learning disabilities, mental retardation, gifted, differential diagnosis, personality, child custody, and competency).

Academically, I have enjoyed teaching courses to Psychiatric Residents at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Centers/ New York Medical College in New York City and the Faculties of Medicine and Social Work at the University of Manitoba. I have also supervised Pre-Doctoral Psychology Interns and practicum students.

As a professional psychologist, I currently maintain full membership with the American Psychological Association. I regularly attend continuing education courses so that I may remain informed about current research, developments, and experiences in the field of Psychology and related professions.

My style is best characterized as compassionate, nonjudgmental, and caring. I believe that therapy is an effective treatment for a number of life’s difficulties and transitions.
